The dish is topped with a lid decorated with a closed lotus flower. Malmaison, one of Christofle’s most historic patterns, is a prime example of the Empire style, featuring a frieze of delicate palm and lotus leaves and symmetry. The name is a nod to the Château de la Malmaison, a favorite Parisian residence of Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine. It is also the only collection designed specifically for serving caviar.
